About the PayPal Fee Calculator

PayPal deducts a percentage plus a fixed fee from goods-and-services payments. This calculator shows the fee and what you net on a payment, and can reverse the math to find what to charge so you receive a target amount.

How it’s calculated

Fee = amount × rate + fixed. Net = amount − fee. To net a target: charge = (target + fixed) ÷ (1 − rate).

Example calculation

On a $100 payment at ~3.49% + $0.49, PayPal takes about $3.98, leaving roughly $96.02.

Frequently asked questions

Are these the current PayPal rates?

The calculator uses PayPal's standard US goods-and-services rate as of the review date shown with the result. International, micropayment, and other rates differ — confirm current fees with PayPal.

How do I make sure I receive a specific amount?

Switch to the charge-to-net mode and enter your target — the calculator grosses up the amount so that, after fees, you're left with what you need.
