About the E-commerce Profit Calculator

Online orders carry more than product cost — shipping, payment fees, and ad spend all take a cut. This calculator nets them all out to show the real profit and margin on a typical order.

How it’s calculated

Profit = selling price − product cost − shipping − (price × transaction fee%) − ad cost per order.

Example calculation

A $50 order costing $18, with $5 shipping, ~3% fees, and $4 ads yields about $21.75 profit — a 44% margin.

Frequently asked questions

Which fees should I include?

Everything that scales with an order: product and packaging cost, outbound shipping, payment-processor fees, and advertising cost allocated per order. Fixed platform fees can be added separately.

Does this include advertising?

Yes — enter your average ad cost per order (total ad spend ÷ orders) so the profit reflects true customer acquisition, not just fulfillment.
