About the Salary Calculator

Your gross salary is rarely what lands in your bank account. Taxes and other deductions reduce it to your take-home (net) pay. This calculator estimates your gross and net pay for each pay period and converts your salary into monthly, weekly, and hourly equivalents so you can see your income from every angle. Tax figures are estimates you provide.

How it’s calculated

Gross per period = Annual salary ÷ pay periods per year. Estimated deductions = Annual salary × (federal % + state % ) + other deductions. Take-home = gross − deductions. Hourly equivalent = Annual salary ÷ (weekly hours × 52).

Example calculation

A $75,000 salary paid biweekly (26 periods) is about $2,885 gross per paycheck. With an estimated 12% federal and 5% state tax plus $2,400/year in other deductions, take-home is roughly $59,850/year, or about $2,302 per paycheck.

Frequently asked questions

Why are the tax results only estimates?

Real taxes depend on progressive brackets, filing status, credits, pre-tax deductions, FICA, and local rules. This tool uses the flat percentages you enter to give a quick approximation, clearly labeled as an estimate, rather than an exact tax calculation.

What counts as 'other deductions'?

Other deductions can include retirement contributions (like 401(k)), health insurance premiums, HSA/FSA contributions, and similar pre- or post-tax withholdings. Enter the annual total to factor them in.

How is the hourly equivalent calculated?

It divides your annual salary by the number of hours you work in a year (your weekly hours × 52). This gives the effective hourly rate your salary represents.

Tax results are rough estimates based on the flat percentages you enter. They do not reflect tax brackets, credits, Social Security and Medicare (FICA), or local taxes. Consult a tax professional for precise figures.
