About the Amazon Seller Profit Calculator

Amazon takes a category referral fee plus FBA fulfillment fees on each sale. This calculator nets those and your product and shipping costs to show profit per unit and margin, using the referral rate as of the review date shown.

How it’s calculated

Profit = selling price − product cost − referral fee − FBA fee − inbound shipping, where referral fee = price × referral%.

Example calculation

A $40 item costing $12, with ~15% referral, a $5 FBA fee, and $1.50 shipping, nets about $15.50 per unit.

Frequently asked questions

Are referral fees really 15%?

It varies by category — most fall around 8–15%, with some higher or lower. The default uses a common ~15% average as of the review date; check Seller Central for your exact category rate.

What about storage and other fees?

This covers referral, FBA fulfillment, and shipping. Monthly storage, long-term storage, and returns processing aren't included and can further reduce profit.
