About the Grade Calculator
Enter your current grade, the final exam's weight, and your target overall grade to see exactly what you need to score on the final — and whether your goal is still reachable.
How it’s calculated
Needed final score = (target − current × (1 − final weight)) ÷ final weight.
Example calculation
With an 85% going in, a final worth 30%, and a 90% target, you'd need about 101.7% — meaning that target isn't reachable from the final alone.
Frequently asked questions
What if the needed score is over 100%?
Then your target can't be reached with the final alone — you'd need extra credit or a lower target. The calculator flags this and shows your best possible overall grade.
What if I could score zero and still pass?
The calculator will tell you when your target is already locked in, so even a zero on the final keeps you above it.
