How it’s calculated
Tiles = area × (1 + waste%) ÷ area of one tile, rounded up.
Example calculation
An 80 sq ft area with 12 × 12 in tiles and 10% waste needs 88 tiles.
Frequently asked questions
How much extra should I buy?
10% for a straight layout, 15–20% for diagonal or intricate patterns. Always keep a few spares from the same lot for future repairs — batches differ in shade.
What about mosaic sheets?
Small mosaics come by the sheet. Use the sheet's coverage as the 'tile size' to get the number of sheets to buy.
