About the Child Height Predictor
The mid-parental method estimates a child's adult height from the average of the parents' heights, adjusted by the child's sex. The real range is wide, so treat it as a fun estimate, not a medical growth assessment.
How it’s calculated
Predicted height = (mother + father ± 13 cm) ÷ 2, plus 13 cm for boys or minus 13 cm for girls, with a ±8.5 cm range.
Example calculation
With a 165 cm mother and 180 cm father, a boy's predicted adult height is about 179 cm (roughly 171–188 cm).

It's a rough estimate — actual adult height commonly lands several centimetres either side, and nutrition and health matter too. It's for curiosity, not a medical prediction.
