About the Discount Calculator

A discount lowers a price by a percentage. Enter the original price and one or two discounts to see the final sale price, how much you save, and optionally the total after tax.

How it’s calculated

Sale price = price × (1 − d1) × (1 − d2). Savings = price − sale price.

Example calculation

A $80 item at 25% off is $60 — a $20 saving.

Frequently asked questions

How do stacked discounts work?

They apply one after another, not added together. 20% off then 10% off is not 30% off — it's 0.8 × 0.9 = 0.72, a 28% total discount.

Can I include sales tax?

Yes — add a tax rate and the calculator shows the after-tax total on the discounted price.
